# Import Booking.com reviews

Connect your Booking.com property, import its guest reviews as testimonials and bring in new reviews automatically with auto-sync.

Bring the guest reviews your property already has on Booking.com into ReTestimonial. Each review becomes a text testimonial you can approve and show like any other. Booking.com import is available on Business.

1. **Copy your property's Booking.com link**

Open your property's page on Booking.com and copy its address from your browser's address bar. It looks like `https://www.booking.com/hotel/us/your-property.html`. ReTestimonial accepts only property pages, whose address contains `/hotel/`; links to search results, attractions, flights or car rentals don't work. You don't sign in to Booking.com.

2. **Connect the property**

In your project, open **Review Platforms** under **Collect** in the sidebar and choose the **Booking.com** tab. Click **Connect Property**.

Paste the link into **Booking.com Property URL**. **Property Name** fills in from the link; change it to the name you want shown on widgets, walls and the inbox. Click **Connect Property**. The property appears as a card on the tab.

3. **Import reviews**

On the property's card, click **Import**. In the **Import Booking.com Reviews** dialog:

   - Use the **Reviews to Import** slider to choose how many reviews to bring in.
   - Under **Minimum score**, keep **All scores** or choose **Good & up (7+)** or **Superb only (9+)**.
   - Tick **Auto-approve all imported reviews** to skip the **Pending** step. It starts on whatever the property's **Auto-approve synced reviews** setting is.

Click the button at the bottom of the dialog; its label shows how many reviews you chose. An import can take a few minutes. When it finishes, a message says how many new reviews were imported and how many were skipped, or **No new eligible reviews found.**

## Where imported reviews go

Imported reviews arrive in **Pending**, where you approve the ones you want to show. If you ticked **Auto-approve all imported reviews**, they go straight to **Approved**. You can also find them under **All Imports** in the sidebar.

Each review comes in with the guest's name (or "Anonymous" when there's none), their photo when there is one, a star rating, the review date and a link to your property's reviews on Booking.com. Booking.com has no link to a single review.

## What becomes the testimonial text

A Booking.com review can say what the guest liked and what they disliked. Only the liked part becomes the testimonial text. The disliked part is never published, and neither is the review's title, which is often just a word such as "Exceptional". You can still read both on the review's card under **All Imports**, where the disliked part is marked **Disliked**.

## Which reviews are imported

- Reviews whose liked part has some real text are imported.
- Reviews with only a score, reviews with only a disliked part, and reviews whose liked part is just a few words are skipped.
- With a **Minimum score**, only reviews in that score band are imported.
- A review is never imported twice. With **All scores**, run **Import** again to continue with older reviews. With a minimum score, **Import** looks at the newest reviews in that band each time.

## How scores become stars

Booking.com guests score their stay from 1 to 10 ([how guest reviews work](https://www.booking.com/reviews_guidelines.html)). ReTestimonial halves the score and rounds to the nearest whole star, rounding halves up:

| Booking.com score | Stars |
| ----------------- | ----- |
| 9 or 10 | 5 |
| 7 or 8 | 4 |
| 5 or 6 | 3 |
| 3 or 4 | 2 |
| 1 or 2 | 1 |

A review without a score comes in without a rating; it's never given five stars by default. The property's card shows its overall Booking.com score out of five (an 8.8 shows as 4.4), its number of reviews on Booking.com and an **Imported** count.

## Import new reviews automatically (auto-sync)

Click **Sync** on a property's card to check for new reviews right away. The button shows how many syncs your project has used this month. A sync that fails doesn't count.

To import new reviews on a schedule, open the menu on the property's card and choose **Settings**. In **Booking.com Sync Settings**, turn on **Auto-sync reviews** and click **Save Settings**. The **Auto-sync frequency** is **Monthly**. For what each setting does, see [Keep imported reviews up to date with auto-sync](/help/import/sync-reviews-automatically).

In the same dialog:

- **Auto-approve synced reviews** sends reviews from **Sync** and auto-sync straight to **Approved**, and is the starting value of the import dialog's auto-approve box.
- **Notify on new reviews**, with **Email notifications** and **In-app notifications**, tells you when **Import**, **Sync** or auto-sync brings in new reviews. The email goes to the workspace owner.

**Sync** and auto-sync import new reviews at every score. The **Minimum score** filter applies only to **Import**.

If an automatic sync fails after its retries, or is skipped because the month's reviews are used up, the people who manage the project get a notification: **Booking.com reviews couldn't be imported** after a failure, or **Booking.com reviews not imported: monthly limit reached** when the month's reviews are used up. In notification settings, this kind of notification is called **Review sync needs attention**.

## Rename a property

Open the menu on the property's card, choose **Settings**, change **Property name** and click **Save Settings**. Every review already imported from the property takes the new name. Widget and Wall of Love auto-sync filters set to this property are updated to match, so they keep showing its reviews.

Each Booking.com property in a project needs its own name. If you connect a property under a name that's already taken, ReTestimonial adds a number to it, such as "(2)".

## Disconnect a property

Open the menu on the property's card and choose **Disconnect**, then confirm with **Disconnect**. The connection is removed and the reviews you imported stay. If you connect the same property again later, its reviews and progress are picked up where you left off.

You can't disconnect or rename a property while an import or sync is running for it. Wait for it to finish and try again.

## Plan limits

These limits apply to each project, and the **Monthly usage** bar on the **Booking.com** tab shows how many reviews you've imported this month.

| | Business |
| ------------------ | ---- |
| Properties | 5 |
| Reviews per import | 100 |
| Reviews per month | 1,000 |
| Syncs per month | 4 |

When a project reaches its monthly review limit, **Import** and **Sync** stop until the next month, and auto-sync waits for the new month too. The **Sync** button on each property is switched off until then.

> **Warning:** Each review counts once. Deleting imported reviews doesn't give back your monthly allowance, disconnecting a property doesn't give back syncs you've used, and a review you've already imported can't be imported again.

## Messages you might see

- **This property is already connected as "…"**: you connected the same property twice, under different links. Disconnect the duplicate card.
- **This Booking.com link now resolves to a different hotel**: the link now leads to a different property. Disconnect the card and connect your property's current link.
- **Too many import requests. Please wait before trying again.**: wait a while, then run the import again.

> **Note:** Only teammates with import access can connect properties, run imports and change sync settings. Everyone else sees this page read-only.
