# Import podcast episodes from Apple Podcasts

Paste the link to an Apple Podcasts episode to add it as an audio testimonial that plays in Apple's podcast player on your widgets and Wall of Love.

When a customer talks about you on a podcast, you can add that episode as a testimonial. You paste the episode's link from Apple Podcasts, check the preview and say who's speaking. ReTestimonial doesn't copy the audio: the episode keeps playing from Apple Podcasts, in Apple's own embedded player. Importing from Apple Podcasts works on every plan; see [Plan limits](#plan-limits) for how episodes count.

## Before you start

Copy the link to the episode. In the Podcasts app on a Mac, find the episode, click the **More** button and choose **Copy Link**. Apple explains this in [Share podcasts on Mac](https://support.apple.com/guide/podcasts/share-podcasts-pod96aaf8353/mac), and for iPhone in [Download, save, remove, and share podcast episodes on iPhone](https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/download-save-or-share-podcasts-iph8615288a4/ios).

An episode link looks like `https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/show-name/id1234567890?i=1000123456789`. It has a two-letter country code (`us`), the show's name, `id` with the show's number, and `?i=` with the episode's number.

1. **Open Media Platforms**

In your project, open **Media Platforms** under **Collect** in the sidebar. Select the **Podcasts** tab and click **Import Audio**. The **Import Video** button on the other tabs opens the same dialog.

2. **Paste the link and preview it**

Paste the episode's link into **Video or Audio URL** and click **Preview**. ReTestimonial fetches the title and image from the episode's Apple Podcasts page and shows them under an **Apple Podcasts** badge.

If no image is found, you see **No thumbnail was found on the Apple Podcasts page.** You can add your own under **Upload a custom thumbnail:** with **Upload** (a JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF) or **URL** (paste an image link and click **Add**). If no title is found, the testimonial is called **Apple Podcasts Audio**.

3. **Say who's speaking**

Enter the **Customer Name**; it's required. ReTestimonial can't read the speaker from the episode, so you type it yourself. You can also fill in **Email (optional)**, **Company (optional)**, **Job Title (optional)** and **Rating (optional)**.

4. **Choose a status and import**

**Status** starts at **Pending**, so the episode waits in your inbox until you approve it. Choose **Approved** to make it ready for your widgets and Wall of Love pages. Tick **Approve & add to Wall of Love** to approve it and add it to your project's default Wall of Love in one go; **Status** switches to **Approved** when you tick it.

   Click **Import Audio**.

## What happens next

- **Testimonial imported successfully!** confirms the import. The episode appears on the **Podcasts** tab, marked **Audio** (click **Apple Podcasts** to see only these), and in your inbox under **Approved** or **Pending**.
- Click the episode's card to play it. The menu on the card has **View on Apple Podcasts**, **Edit** and **Delete**. **Edit** changes the speaker's details, the rating, the **Video Title** and the **Thumbnail**.
- The episode's title is saved as the testimonial's text.
- In widgets and on your Wall of Love, approved episodes play in Apple's embedded player.

## Good to know

- **Use an episode link, not a show link.** A link without `i=` after the `?` points to the whole show. ReTestimonial accepts it, but the testimonial then points to the show's player instead of the episode your customer is in.
- **An episode plays from the beginning.** There's no start or end time to set for Apple Podcasts.
- **Nothing is downloaded.** ReTestimonial saves the link, the title and the image. The episode plays only while it's available on Apple Podcasts.
- **One import per link.** Importing the same link again into the same project stops with **This episode or track has already been imported to this project.**
- **Who can import.** The **Import Audio** button appears only for the workspace owner and **Admin** teammates. See [Invite team members](/help/account/invite-team-members).

## Plan limits

An episode from Apple Podcasts is a link, so it counts toward the same limit as your written and audio testimonials, not toward your video testimonial limit: that one is for videos customers record or upload.

- **Free**: 10 written, audio and linked media testimonials across your workspace.
- **Pro**: unlimited.
- **Premium**: unlimited.
- **Business**: unlimited.

Rejected, archived and spam testimonials don't count. When you reach the limit, the import stops with a message that names your plan's limit. See [Plans and pricing](/help/account/plans-upgrades-and-cancelling).

## If the import doesn't work

- **Unsupported link. Paste a YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, Wistia, Vidyard, Spotify, Apple Podcasts or SoundCloud link.** The link isn't an Apple Podcasts link in the shape above: it must be on `podcasts.apple.com` and include the country code. Copy it again with **Copy Link**.
- **Please enter a full link starting with https\://** Paste the whole link, including `https://`.
- **Only HTTPS URLs are allowed** Change `http://` at the start of the link to `https://`.
- **Author name is required** Fill in **Customer Name**.
- **Too many requests. Please wait a moment and try again.** Wait a minute, then try again.
