# Import videos from Vidyard

Paste a Vidyard sharing link to add the video as a testimonial that plays in Vidyard's own player on your widgets and Wall of Love.

If a customer's video testimonial lives in Vidyard, you can add it to ReTestimonial by pasting its link. The video stays on Vidyard and plays in Vidyard's own player wherever you show it. Importing from Vidyard works on every plan, within your plan's testimonial limit (see "Plan limits" below).

1. **Copy the video's link in Vidyard**

   In Vidyard, select **Share** next to the video in your library, then **Copy link**. Vidyard's guide [How to share a link to your video](https://knowledge.vidyard.com/hc/en-us/articles/360023054254-How-to-share-a-link-to-your-video) explains this, and how to copy a link from its browser extension. The link starts with `https://share.vidyard.com/watch/`.

2. **Open Media Platforms**

   In your project, open **Media Platforms** under **Collect** in the sidebar and click **Import Video**.

3. **Preview the video**

   Paste the link into **Video or Audio URL** and click **Preview**. ReTestimonial shows the video's thumbnail and title under a **Vidyard** badge.

   If Vidyard sends no thumbnail, the preview says **Vidyard didn't return a thumbnail for this video.** Add your own just below it: click **Upload**, then **Choose thumbnail image**, or click **URL**, paste a link to an image and click **Add**.

4. **Add the customer's details**

   Type the customer's name in **Customer Name**; it's required. **Email (optional)**, **Company (optional)**, **Job Title (optional)** and **Rating (optional)** are up to you.

   A Vidyard video always plays from the beginning.

5. **Import it**

   Under **Status**, keep **Pending**, the default, to review the video before you show it, or choose **Approved**. Tick **Approve & add to Wall of Love** to approve it and add it to your project's default Wall of Love in one go; **Status** switches to **Approved** when you tick it. Click **Import Video**.

## Which links work

A link works when it opens a single video on Vidyard's own sharing page:

- `https://share.vidyard.com/watch/…`, the link **Copy link** gives you;
- `https://video.vidyard.com/watch/…`.

Vidyard can also host sharing pages on a hub subdomain or on your own domain ([Set up a sharing page for your videos](https://knowledge.vidyard.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009869514-Set-up-a-sharing-page-for-your-videos)). ReTestimonial doesn't accept those links, or `play.vidyard.com` player links. They fail with **Unsupported link. Paste a YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, Wistia, Vidyard, Spotify, Apple Podcasts or SoundCloud link.**, even though Vidyard is supported, so copy the video's `share.vidyard.com` link instead.

Copy the plain link, not one you shared with recipients' email addresses: Vidyard adds a token to those links that identifies the recipient when the video is watched.

## What's imported

- the video's title, which is also saved as the testimonial's text (**Vidyard Video** when Vidyard sends no title);
- its thumbnail, or the one you added;
- the link to the video on Vidyard;
- the name, details, rating and status you entered.

ReTestimonial doesn't read the customer from Vidyard, so you type their name yourself. It doesn't copy the video either: the video plays from Vidyard, in Vidyard's player, in your dashboard, your widgets and your Wall of Love. Keep it available on Vidyard.

If the preview warned **This video may have embedding disabled.**, your widgets and Wall of Love can't play the video, and the video's card on **Media Platforms** says so. After you allow embedding on Vidyard, open the card's menu and choose **Check embedding again**.

## After the import

The video appears on the **Media Platforms** page: open the **Enterprise** tab and choose the **Vidyard** filter. It's in your inbox too, under **Approved** or **Pending**. It's listed under **All Imports** in the sidebar as well.

Click a video's thumbnail to play it. The menu on its card has **View on Vidyard**, **Edit** and **Delete**. **Edit** changes the thumbnail, the **Video Title** shown on the card, the customer's details and the rating; click **Save Changes** when you're done.

## If the import doesn't work

- **This video has already been imported to this project**: each link can be imported once per project. If you can't find the video on the **Media Platforms** page, check **Archived** and **Spam** in your inbox.
- **This video is private or restricted** or **Video not found - it may have been deleted or the URL is invalid**: Vidyard didn't return the video. Check the link, and check that anyone with the link can watch the video.
- **Only HTTPS URLs are allowed** or **Please enter a full link starting with https\://**: paste the whole link, starting with `https://`.
- **Author name is required**: fill in **Customer Name**.
- **Too many requests. Please wait a moment and try again.**: wait a minute, then try again.
- A message about how many written, audio and linked media testimonials your plan allows: you've reached the limit below.

Only the workspace owner and teammates with the **Admin** role see **Import Video**.

## Plan limits

An imported Vidyard video is a link, so it counts toward the same limit as your written and audio testimonials, not toward your video testimonial limit: that one is for videos customers record or upload. Rejected, archived and spam testimonials don't count. When you reach the limit, the import stops with a message suggesting an upgrade.

- **Free**: 10 written, audio and linked media testimonials across your workspace.
- **Pro**: unlimited.
- **Premium**: unlimited.
- **Business**: unlimited.

See [Plans and pricing](/help/account/plans-upgrades-and-cancelling) to change your plan.
