# Import Yelp reviews

Connect your business's Yelp page, import its reviews as testimonials and bring in new ones with Sync or monthly auto-sync.

Bring the reviews your business has on Yelp into ReTestimonial. Each review becomes a testimonial you can approve and show like any other. You don't sign in to Yelp: all ReTestimonial needs is the address of your business page. Automatic Yelp import is available on Business.

1. **Copy your business page's address**

On `www.yelp.com`, open your business's page and copy the address from your browser's address bar. It looks like `https://www.yelp.com/biz/your-business-city`. Yelp describes this address in [What is my Yelp Business ID?](https://biz.yelp.com/support-center/article/What-is-my-Yelp-Business-ID)

Copy the full address, starting with `https://`, from `www.yelp.com`. An address from Yelp's mobile site (`m.yelp.com`) works too. Addresses from Yelp's sites for other countries aren't accepted.

2. **Open the Yelp tab**

In your project, open **Review Platforms** under **Collect** in the sidebar, then select the **Yelp** tab.

3. **Connect the business**

Under **Automatic Import**, click **Connect Business**. Paste the address into **Yelp Business URL**. The **Business preview** shows the business ID read from it; check it's your business, then click **Connect Business**. The business appears as a card on the tab.

The card first shows a name made from the address. After the first import, it shows the business's name from Yelp.

4. **Import reviews**

On the business's card, click **Import**. In the **Import Yelp Reviews** dialog, choose how many reviews to bring in under **Reviews to Import**. Tick **Auto-approve all imported reviews** if you want to skip the **Pending** step. Then click the button at the bottom of the dialog; its label shows how many reviews you chose.

## When your reviews arrive

The import goes into a queue, and Yelp imports are processed once a day, so your reviews may not appear until the next day. Until then the business's card shows **Import queued (runs once a day)**. When the import has run, the card shows **Imported** with a count and **Last synced** with the time. The star figure on the card is the average of the latest reviews read by an import or a sync, not the business's overall rating on Yelp.

Each business has one import or sync in the queue at a time. Until it has run, **Import** and **Sync** for that business answer "A Yelp import/sync job is already queued or running for this business."

## Where imported reviews go

Imported reviews arrive in **Pending**, where you approve the ones you want to show. If you ticked **Auto-approve all imported reviews**, they go straight to **Approved**. You can also find them under **All Imports** in the sidebar.

Each review comes in as a text testimonial with the reviewer's name and profile photo, the star rating, the review text, up to three of the review's photos, the review date, and links to the review and to the reviewer's profile on Yelp.

## Which reviews are imported

- Reviews at every star rating are imported. There's no minimum-rating filter for Yelp.
- A review with no text is skipped. A review that comes without a star rating is imported without one, with its stars hidden.
- A review is never imported twice into the same project, even after you delete it or disconnect and reconnect its business. Running **Import** again skips the reviews you already have; to get reviews posted since, use **Sync**.

## Import new reviews (Sync and auto-sync)

Click **Sync** on a business's card to import reviews posted since the newest one you've imported, up to 50 at a time. It goes through the same daily queue as **Import**. The button shows how many syncs this project has used this month.

To import new reviews automatically, open the menu on the business's card and choose **Settings**. In **Yelp Sync Settings**, turn on **Auto-sync reviews** and click **Save Settings**. The **Auto-sync frequency** is **Monthly**. Auto-sync runs once 30 days have passed since the business's last import or sync, or at the next daily run if the business has never been imported. It doesn't use your syncs. For what each setting does, see [Keep imported reviews up to date with auto-sync](/help/import/sync-reviews-automatically).

In the same dialog:

- **Auto-approve synced reviews** sends reviews from **Sync** and auto-sync straight to **Approved** instead of **Pending**. **Import** follows the **Auto-approve all imported reviews** box in its own dialog instead.
- **Notify on new reviews** tells you when an import, sync or auto-sync brings in new reviews. **Email notifications** emails the workspace owner, and **In-app notifications** adds an in-app notification. Email is on and in-app is off until you change them.

## Disconnect a business

Open the menu on the business's card, choose **Disconnect** and confirm with **Disconnect**. The connection is removed, and the reviews you imported stay in your project as testimonials. The same menu's **View on Yelp** opens the business's page on Yelp.

## Plan limits

These limits apply to each project. The **Monthly usage** bar on the **Yelp** tab shows how many Yelp reviews you've imported this month. Each review counts once: deleting imported reviews doesn't give back your monthly allowance, and a review you add yourself doesn't use it.

| | Business |
| ------------------ | ---- |
| Businesses | 5 |
| Reviews per import | 100 |
| Reviews per month | 1,000 |
| Syncs per month | 4 |

The monthly counts start again each calendar month. When the project reaches its monthly review limit, **Import** is unavailable, and **Sync** and auto-sync add nothing until the next month. Disconnecting and reconnecting a business doesn't give back the syncs you've used.

If an import or sync fails after its retries, or a queued import or sync is skipped because the month's reviews are used up, the people who manage the project get a notification: **Yelp reviews couldn't be imported** after a failure, or **Yelp reviews not imported: monthly limit reached** when the month's reviews are used up. In notification settings, this kind of notification is called **Review sync needs attention**.

> **Note:** Only teammates with import access can connect businesses, run imports and change sync settings. Everyone else sees this page read-only.
