Phone, held still

An iPhone propped on a stack of books at eye level beats $400 of equipment held badly. Front camera, vertical or 16:9 — both render fine.

Window light, not overhead

Sit facing a window during the day. Skip the ring light unless your face is the product. Soft daylight makes everyone look like a person, not a hostage.

20–40 seconds, not 90

If you can't say it in 30 seconds, the form will never recover. The video is the doorman, not the lecture.

Start with a name and a why. “Hi, I'm Devon and I read every word that comes through this form.” Don't open with a thank-you — earn it.
