Update your profile and sign-in security
Change your name and photo, set or change your password, turn on two-step verification, connect Google and sign out other devices.
Your profile and sign-in settings belong to you, not to a workspace, so they follow you into every project you work on. Click your profile picture in the top-right corner and choose Account Settings. On a computer, Profile opens, with Security below it in the settings menu; on a phone, pick either one from the list.
Update your name and photo
On Profile, change your Full name and click Save changes (Save on a phone). Your name is how teammates see you.
For your photo, click Upload photo and pick a JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF image. It's saved straight away. Change photo replaces it and Remove takes it off.
Your Email is shown but can't be changed here. If you need to use a different address, contact us.
Set or change your password
Open Security and click Change password. Enter your Current password, then your New password twice, and click Update password.
If you signed up with Google or an emailed code, the row says Set a password instead. Click Set password to add one, so you can also sign in with your email and password.
Sign out other devices is ticked, so every other device is signed out when the password changes. Untick it to stay signed in elsewhere.
Turn on two-step verification
Two-step verification asks for a code from an authenticator app each time you sign in.
- Next to Two-step verification, click Enable.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or copy the key under Can't scan? Enter this key manually into it.
- Enter the 6-digit Code from the app and click Verify and turn on.
- Under Save your backup codes, click Copy or Download, keep the codes somewhere safe, then click I've saved them. They aren't shown again.
The status at the top of Security now says On. While it's off, the settings menu shows 1 to fix next to Security.
Connect Google
To sign in with Continue with Google, click Connect in the Google row and choose your Google account. You come back to Security with it connected.
To stop, click Disconnect and confirm. You can still sign in with your password or, until you set one, with a code we email you.
Sign out other devices
Signed-in devices lists each browser signed in to your account, with its location and when it was last active. Click Sign out next to one you don't recognize, or Sign out all other devices and then Sign out others to keep only the one you're using.
Changing your password, two-step verification or the Google connection may first ask you to confirm it's you.
Signing in with two-step verification
After your password, or after Google, enter the code your authenticator app shows under Enter your authenticator code. Lost your phone? Click Use a backup code instead and enter one of your saved codes under Backup code. Each backup code works once, so make a new set when you're running low: click Manage, then Regenerate backup codes, and confirm. Your old codes stop working.
To turn it off, click Manage, then Turn off, and confirm. Two-step verification works with authenticator apps only; codes by text message aren't offered, and a workspace owner can't require it for a team. For single sign-on and other security questions, see Security and privacy questions.
When you sign in on a device we don't recognize, we may also email you a 6-digit code under Confirm it's you.
If you forget your password, click Forgot password? on the sign-in page and we'll email you a code to set a new one.
If your account has no password, for example because you created it with only an email address and a code, entering one under Password shows This account signs in with an emailed code. Click Email me a one-time code under the sign-in button and enter the code we send you. To sign in with a password from then on, set one under Security.
For every other case, such as a code that doesn't arrive or a lost phone, see Can't sign in.
What happens next
Your changes apply to your account everywhere. There's no separate button to delete your account: it's deleted together with your workspace, under Delete workspace and account on the workspace's General settings page. See Manage your workspace before you do.
