Manage your notifications

Read and clear notifications from the bell, see what each one is about and who gets it, and choose which ones you get for each project.

The bell at the top of every dashboard page tells you when something happens in your projects, such as a new testimonial, a finished import or a failed payment. Everyone gets their own notifications, and chooses which ones they want.

Check the bell

A red number on the bell counts your unread notifications. Click the bell to see the latest ones. Click a notification to open the page it's about, which also marks it read, or click Mark all read.

See all your notifications

Click View all at the bottom of the bell's list. The Notifications page lists every notification from every workspace and project you can open. Narrow it by workspace, project or category, or click Unread. Notifications that need you to act are marked Action required. Click Load more to go further back.

Choose which notifications you get

Click Manage preferences on the Notifications page. (Or click your profile picture, choose Account Settings, then Notifications.)

On the Defaults tab, each category has a switch. Click a category's name to see its notifications and switch single ones on or off. A switch you've changed gets a reset button beside it that undoes the change. Everything is on until you change it, and your choices apply to every project you can open.

Change them for one project (optional)

Open the Project overrides tab and pick a project. For each category or notification, choose On or Off, or Global to follow your defaults (it shows whether they're on or off). Clear overrides for this project puts the whole project back on your defaults.

What you're notified about

Which notifications you get depends on your role in each project. The workspace owner gets them all.

Notifications marked Always on, such as a failed payment, a failed gift card or a switched-off webhook, can't be turned off.

When a lot of the same kind arrive in one project within an hour, the rest are grouped into a single "More … activity" notification. Notifications are deleted after 90 days.

Emails have their own settings

These settings change what appears in the app, not what's emailed.

  • New testimonial emails, and the emails your customers get, are set per project: open the project, click the gear icon next to its name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Notifications. The owner and the project's Admins can change them. See Set up the emails a project sends.
  • New review emails are switched on or off in each review platform connection's settings. See Keep imported reviews up to date with auto-sync.
  • A few alerts are also emailed to the workspace owner: usage nearing a plan limit, a low rewards balance, and a webhook switched off after repeated failures.
  • Product communications, at the bottom of the Defaults tab, covers optional product emails from the ReTestimonial team. Product guidance and product updates are on for new accounts, and you can switch each one off here; offers and promotions are off until you turn them on.

What happens next

Your choices apply to new notifications straight away; the ones you've already received stay until they're deleted.
