Create testimonial images

Turn approved testimonials into images for social posts and slides, then download them as PNG or JPEG or save the design as a template.

Turn an approved text testimonial into an image for social media, slides or your website. The workspace owner and a project's Admins can make images; Members and Viewers can't open the image editor.

Open the image editor

In your project, open Images in the Share section of the sidebar and click Create Image. Until you've saved a template, the page shows starter templates instead: click one, or click Blank canvas.

To start from a testimonial, open the Share menu on its card in your inbox and choose Create an image. It works for approved text testimonials.

Pick a template

Click Templates at the top of the sidebar. In Choose a Template, search or filter by category, Platform and number of Testimonials (One or Multiple), then click a design. Templates are grouped by shape: Square (1:1), Portrait (4:5), Landscape (16:9) and Story (9:16), plus With Photos for designs that show the testimonial's own photos. More designs are under Popular Templates at the bottom of the sidebar.

Pick the template first. Switching to another one resets the colours and background to the new template's; your font choice and your logo stay.

Choose the testimonial

In the Select Testimonial section, click Select Testimonial (or Change Testimonial) and pick one. The list shows approved text testimonials only. A template made for several testimonials shows Select Testimonials instead, with how many it holds. Until you choose, the editor shows a sample.

Edit the text and style

Open the sections in the sidebar:

  • Content: the Author Name, Title / Role, Company and Testimonial Content (select words and click the highlight button to emphasize them), and Show Rating. Below them, the Font, Text size, Text color, Subtitle color and Highlight color apply to the whole image. Some templates add a Quote mark choice.
  • Headline and Call to Action, in templates that have them.
  • Platform Badge: the logo of the site the testimonial came from, when it has one.
  • Photos, in With Photos templates: which of the testimonial's photos to show.
  • Background: a Solid colour, a Gradient, or Transparent.

Your edits change only this image, never the testimonial itself.

Open Branding, click Upload Logo and choose an image, then pick a corner under Position. Adding a logo is on Pro, Premium and Business.

Set the size

Click the size button in the top bar; it shows the current size, such as 1080x1080. In Resize Image, choose Recommended (the best size for this template), one of the Preset sizes for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, or a Custom Size. Then click Apply Size.

Export the image

Click Share in the top bar and choose Export as PNG, Export as JPEG or Copy to Clipboard. The file is made at twice the width and height shown on the size button, so it stays sharp; the Share menu shows the exported size. A Transparent background stays transparent in a PNG and turns white in a JPEG.

Images aren't stored in ReTestimonial. Export before you leave the editor. Back asks first when you have changes, but once you leave, the design is lost. To reuse a design, save it as a template.

Save a design as a template

In the editor, click Share and choose Save as Template. Enter a Template Name and click Save Template. A template keeps the look: the base design, background, colours, size and style settings. It doesn't keep the testimonial, headline, call to action, platform badge or photo choices.

Saved templates appear on the Images page and under Your Templates in the editor's sidebar. On the Images page, click a template to open it in the editor, or use its menu to Rename, Duplicate, Set as Default or Delete it. The default template opens by itself when you click Create Image. It also opens when you use Create an image from your inbox, if it's made for one testimonial (and, for a With Photos design, the testimonial has photos).

Watermark and logo by plan

Images made on Free carry a small "Made with ReTestimonial" mark in the bottom-right corner, and the preview shows it too. Other plans have no mark. Adding your own logo is on Pro, Premium and Business. There's no monthly limit on images.

Shortcuts

Press Ctrl+Z to undo and Ctrl+Y or Ctrl+Shift+Z to redo (Cmd on a Mac). Ctrl+S doesn't save: it reminds you to export or save a template from the Share menu.
