Social videos
Turn testimonials into short videos for Reels, TikTok, LinkedIn and your website, with templates, captions, music and your branding.
A social video is a short, animated video made from your approved testimonials, ready to post on Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube or your own website. You pick a testimonial and a template, the editor fits the words, photos or recording to it, and you see the finished video before you export it.
Social videos are on every plan; how many you can export each month depends on your plan (see below). The workspace owner and the project's Admins can make them from Videos in the Share section of the project's sidebar.
What you can make them from
- A written review. Its own words appear on screen. For a long review you choose one continuous passage, word for word: the editor never rewrites a review or joins sentences from different places.
- A review with photos attached to it.
- A video testimonial hosted on ReTestimonial, such as one recorded through your form or uploaded. A video that's only a link to another site, such as an imported YouTube or Vimeo link, can't be used, and a new video can be used once it has finished processing.
- Several testimonials at once, with Review Stack and Customer Montage.
Only approved testimonials can be used, and audio testimonials can't.
Templates
The editor opens on a template that suits your testimonial. Templates that don't suit it are greyed out, and the tile says why, for example Needs a video testimonial.
Text reviews

With photos

Every template makes all four formats, and one export can include several of them.

Free exports 1:1; Pro, Premium and Business export 1:1, 4:5, 9:16 and 16:9. A format your plan doesn't include shows a lock in the editor.
Captions
Video templates show captions timed to what the customer says, taken from the video's transcript. On Pro, Premium and Business, the editor can re-time the transcript from the audio so each word appears exactly when it's spoken. Each video template has its own caption style; Customer Montage lets you choose Bold Pop, Highlighter, Clean Box, Outline or Serif Subtitle.
A video with captions also comes with a caption file (.srt), for platforms that take captions separately. Text and photo templates show the review itself on screen, so they have no caption file.
Music and branding
- Music: a royalty-free track from the music library, or your own audio file. On video templates, the music drops while the customer speaks, unless you turn that off. On Pro, Premium and Business.
- Branding: your logo in a corner of the video, and an end card with your headline and link, a button, or your review score. On Pro, Premium and Business.
- Brand kit: a new video starts from your workspace's brand kit: its colour as the accent, its fonts, its end-card copy and your workspace logo.
- Watermark: videos exported on Free carry a small Made with ReTestimonial watermark.
Languages
On Business, a text, photo or Review Stack video can be made in a language you've translated the testimonial into. The video uses the stored translation, and the words the video adds itself, such as labels, dates and the score, follow the language. Only languages written in the Latin alphabet are offered, such as Spanish, French, German, Polish or Vietnamese. Video templates keep the language the customer speaks.
Plans and monthly exports
Each export counts against one of two monthly allowances:
- Text exports: videos made with a text or photo template, and Review Stack.
- Video exports: videos made with a video template, and Customer Montage.

One export can include up to four formats and still counts once. The allowances are shared by every project in the workspace and start again each month. On a plan with no video exports you can still try the video templates in the editor, but you can't export them. On a plan with a limit, the Videos page shows how many exports you've used this month.
