Find missing proof with Proof Gap Autopilot

Tell Proof Gap Autopilot which pages need proof, see which testimonials cover each one, and copy a brief for collecting what's still missing.

Proof Gap Autopilot checks your most important pages, such as your pricing page or a product page, against your testimonials. For each page, you describe who it's for and what it has to prove. It then shows which testimonials cover it, what's still missing, and a brief for collecting the rest.

It's on Premium and Business and works from your Proof Intelligence analysis, so it only sees testimonials that have been analyzed. Everyone on the project can view it; the workspace owner, Admins and Members can add and change targets.

Open Proof Gaps

In your project's sidebar, click Proof Gaps under Analyze. The page is called Proof Gap Autopilot.

Add a target

Click Add target (or Create first target if you have none yet). A target is one page you want proof for:

  • Name: a label you'll recognize, such as "Pricing page".
  • Page URL or path: a path that starts with /, such as /pricing, or a full https:// address.
  • Funnel Stage: Home, Landing Page, Pricing, Product, Demo, Checkout, Onboarding or Other.

Describe what the page needs

Open Target Signals and list what the page has to prove, separated by commas:

  • Personas: who the page is for, such as a job title or type of business.
  • Use Cases: what customers use your product for.
  • Features: the features the page talks about.
  • Objections: the doubts the page has to answer, such as price or setup time.

Under Desired Asset Types, pick the kinds of proof you'd like to use there (Case Study, Image, Video, Widget, Wall of Love, Share Page or Quote), add any Notes, and click Create target.

A signal matches when Proof Intelligence described a testimonial in the same words. Capital letters, punctuation, a plural and small words such as "of" don't matter, and a short signal finds a longer description that contains it: "pricing" matches "Pricing concerns". Different words for the same idea still don't match: "Onboarding" doesn't find "Getting started". For features and use cases, the wording in the inbox's Feature and Use case filters is what Proof Intelligence used. Set at least one signal: a target without any finds almost nothing.

Read the results

Click a target in the Target Inventory to see its details. Each target gets a coverage state and a Coverage score out of 100:

  • Missing: no qualifying approved testimonial yet.
  • Partial: one or two.
  • Strong: three or more.

A testimonial qualifies when it matches enough of the target: each kind of signal it matches (persona, use case, feature, objection) counts most, and a high Showcase Score and a recommended asset from your Desired Asset Types add to it. Only one testimonial per customer counts, and only approved testimonials count toward coverage.

The details show:

  • Matched Testimonials: up to five approved and up to five still pending, with each one's Score, Showcase score and the signals it matched. Approved ones come first. A match still waiting on your inbox's Pending page is listed with Pending: not counted yet: it counts toward coverage once you approve it.
  • Missing signals: the signals no qualifying testimonial covers yet, such as "Needs objection-handling proof for Pricing".
  • Measured impact: how often proof was shown on this page and the conversions credited to it, when you measure the page with Proof Impact.

Act on the gaps

Recommended Actions links to the next steps for the target, for example:

  • Review pending matches, when matching testimonials are waiting for approval: it opens your inbox's Pending page. The ones that match are named under Matched Testimonials.
  • View matching testimonials: your Approved testimonials, filtered by the target's signals.
  • Open Smart Invites, while coverage isn't Strong: ask customers for the proof that's missing.
  • Open widget workflow and Open Wall of Love workflow: put your matched proof on the page.

These are only suggestions: nothing changes until you act on one.

The Collection Brief turns the gap into outreach guidance: Page Context, Currently Missing, Ideal Proof, an Outreach Prompt to adapt for your customers, and Interview Angles. Click Preview brief to read it, or Copy brief to copy it as text for an email, an interview or a teammate.

If a target stays Missing

A target can say Missing while plenty of your testimonials talk about its topic. Check these:

  • The signals use other words. A signal matches the words Proof Intelligence used to describe a testimonial, not the review's own text. "Pricing" finds "Pricing concerns", but "Cost" doesn't. Copy the exact wording from the inbox's Feature and Use case filters into Target Signals.
  • The target has no signals. A target without any finds almost nothing. Add at least one.
  • The testimonials aren't analyzed. Only analyzed testimonials are checked; see the next section.
  • They aren't approved. A match that's still on your inbox's Pending page is listed with Pending: not counted yet and counts once you approve it.

When too few testimonials are analyzed

If the project has no testimonials yet, a No testimonials to analyze yet notice says so, and its Collect testimonials link opens your forms: there's nothing for Proof Intelligence to analyze until some arrive.

Once you have testimonials, and until at least 60% of them are analyzed, a More testimonials need analysis notice shows how many are done, the results are only a rough guide, and Recommended Actions offers just Run analysis first and Copy collection brief. Testimonials are analyzed automatically while you have AI credits, a backlog in batches, unless automatic analysis is switched off for the project. To queue all of them now, click Proof AI in your inbox's toolbar, then Start Analysis; the notice's Open the inbox link takes you there. See Analyze your testimonials with Proof Intelligence. The Insights Overview shows your coverage and what the rest would cost.

Proof Gap Autopilot itself doesn't use AI credits; analyzing testimonials does. See AI credits.

Change, pause or delete a target

  • Edit: click the pencil icon beside a target, or Edit in its details, and click Save changes.
  • Pause: in the edit window, switch off Status. A paused target is left out of the results until you switch Status back on, or click Reactivate in its details. There's a cap on active targets per project, shown under Target Inventory; pause one to make room for another.
  • Delete: click the bin icon, then Delete target. Your testimonials aren't affected.

Results are worked out each time you open the page. After you analyze or approve more testimonials, click Refresh.
