Cancel your subscription
Cancel a paid plan from the Billing page, keep it until the end of the period you've paid for, and resume it if you change your mind.
To cancel a paid plan, open Billing, go to the Plans & capacity tab, scroll to Cancel subscription and click Cancel at period end. Cancelling has no fee. Your paid plan keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for; then your workspace moves to Free, and nothing is deleted. Only the workspace owner can cancel.
Find the cancel card
Click your profile picture in the top-right corner and choose Billing. Open the Plans & capacity tab and scroll to Cancel subscription. It's the last card on the tab, and it gives the date your paid access ends.
The card isn't shown on Free, or once a cancellation is already scheduled.
Choose the project to keep
If you have more than one active project, pick one under Project to keep active on Free. Free keeps 1 project active, so your other projects become read-only when the period ends. Until you pick one, Cancel at period end can't be clicked.
Confirm
Click Cancel at period end, then Cancel at period end again in the box that asks you to confirm. If you have teammates, the box says when they lose access to shared projects; they get it back by themselves when the workspace is on a plan with team seats again. See What happens to my team if I downgrade, cancel or miss a payment?.
If Cancel at period end still can't be clicked, an earlier billing change hasn't finished: see Why can't I change my plan right now?.
Resume your subscription
Your paid plan keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for; the Overview tab shows the date. Until then, you can click Resume subscription under Subscription details to keep your plan. It then renews as before.
A change you had scheduled for renewal is called off when you cancel, and resuming doesn't bring it back. To schedule it again, see Change your plan, project licences or seats.
Once the period has ended, there's nothing to resume: your workspace is on Free. See Upgrade to a paid plan.
What changes when the period ends
Nothing changes until that date. Then your workspace moves to Free: its limits apply, and features it doesn't include switch off. The projects you didn't keep become read-only, and their widgets and Walls of Love stay live for up to 30 days before going offline. Teammates can't open your projects from then on. Nothing is deleted.
- For each of these, and how to bring a project back, see What happens when you downgrade or cancel.
- For your team, see What happens to my team if I downgrade, cancel or miss a payment?.
- For credits you bought, see "If you change plan, cancel or delete your workspace" under AI credits and invitation credits.
Fees and refunds
Cancelling has no fee. It stops your plan from renewing, and it doesn't normally refund the rest of a period you've already paid for. For refunds, see our refund policy and Can I get a refund?.
What happens next
On the Overview tab, the card with your plan's name now says when paid access ends, and Subscription details shows Cancellation as Scheduled at period end. The Cancel subscription card is gone from Plans & capacity.
Cancelling keeps your account, your workspace and everything in it. To delete them instead, see Delete your workspace and account.
