Use your own fonts

Add Google fonts or upload your brand's font files to a project, then pick them in the widget builder and the image editor.

The Fonts tab of your project settings holds the fonts your editors list under Project Fonts: fonts from Google Fonts, on every plan, and font files you upload, on Pro, Premium and Business. The workspace owner and the project's Admins can manage them.

Open the Fonts tab

In your project, click the gear icon next to the project's name at the bottom of the sidebar, then click Fonts. On the left, Google Fonts and Custom Fonts switch between the two lists, and IN PROJECT shows every font the project has.

The tab saves each change on its own: Saving..., then Saved. If it shows Error saving, click Retry.

Add a Google font

Under Google Fonts, search with Search all Google Fonts... or pick a category, such as Serif or Handwriting. Click Add on a font. It then shows Added; click that to remove it again.

A counter shows how many Google fonts the project has out of the most it can hold. When it's full, remove one to add another. The font pickers in your editors also offer a selection of Google fonts; to use one that isn't among them, add it here.

Upload a font file

Click Custom Fonts. Uploading your own font files is on Pro, Premium and Business. Drag a WOFF2, WOFF, TTF or OTF file onto the box, or click the box to choose one. The box shows the largest file it takes.

Check the Font Name, which is filled in from the file's name, and set the file's Weight and Style (Normal or Italic). Click Upload Font. The font appears under Uploaded Fonts, with a line of sample text.

Each file becomes its own font in the pickers. If you want a bold version too, upload the bold file as a second font and pick it where you need it.

Use it in a widget

Open the widget in the builder, go to the Design tab, open Typography and click Font Family. Your fonts are listed under Project Fonts; type in the picker's search box to find one by name. Parts of a card have their own font setting too, such as Name Font, Title Font and Quote Font. The list ends with Manage project fonts, which opens the Fonts tab.

Where your fonts work

  • Widgets: Google fonts and uploaded fonts both show on your site. Uploaded fonts show only while your plan includes them.
  • Testimonial images: the Font setting in the image editor lists your project fonts, and uploaded fonts are included in the exported image. See Create testimonial images.
  • Walls of Love: the Design tab's font settings, such as Title Font and Content Font, list your project fonts. Google fonts and uploaded fonts both show on the hosted page and the embed, including the fonts you set for one part of a card, such as Name Font. Uploaded fonts show only while your plan includes them.
  • Forms: the form's Design tab lists your fonts under Heading Font and Body Font. The body font applies to the whole form and the heading font to its titles, in the preview and on the published form. Uploaded fonts show only while your plan includes them. See Design your form.
  • Social videos don't use project fonts. Set their fonts in your brand kit or in the video editor.

Remove a font

  • A Google font: click Added on it, or the X beside it under IN PROJECT. Widgets that already use it keep showing it; it just leaves Project Fonts.
  • An uploaded font: click the bin icon next to it under Uploaded Fonts, or its X under IN PROJECT, then click Delete font. This deletes the file for good, and anything using it falls back to another font.

What happens next

If your plan changes to one without custom fonts, your uploaded fonts stay on the Fonts tab and you can still delete them, but you can't upload new ones. The editors' font lists stop offering them, and your published widgets, Walls of Love and forms stop showing them.
