Choose and order the testimonials on a Wall of Love
Pick a Wall of Love's testimonials by hand or let rules fill it, then set their order and put your best ones first.
A Wall of Love shows the testimonials you choose for it, in the order you set. A new project's wall starts with none chosen, so it's empty until you pick some or let rules fill it. Only the workspace owner and project Admins can edit a wall.
Open the Content tab
In your project, open Wall of Love in the sidebar and click Edit on the wall's card. The builder opens on the Content tab, under Testimonials, with Selection Mode at the top.
A wall with nothing chosen shows No testimonials selected in the preview. On the Wall of Love page it's marked Empty draft, or No testimonials if it's published. A wall can be published before it has any: when you choose testimonials by hand and none is chosen, Publish first asks whether to publish the empty wall.
Pick a selection mode
- Curate: you pick the testimonials. The wall that comes with a new project starts here, and so does one made from the Blank wall template.
- Auto-sync: rules keep the wall filled as you approve new testimonials. Walls made from the other templates start here.
Pick testimonials by hand
In Curate, tick the testimonials you want under Pick testimonials. The count under the heading shows how many are selected, and the preview fills in as you tick.
- To find testimonials, type in the search box, or click Filters to narrow the list by Type, Minimum Rating, Sources, tags, Media or Translations.
- Select all ticks every testimonial the list is showing. Once they're all ticked, it reads Deselect all.
- Clear, beside Select all, unticks everything. The Clear beside Filters only resets the filters.
The list holds approved testimonials only.
Or let rules fill the wall
Click Auto-sync. If the wall has hand-picked testimonials, confirm with Use Auto-sync, or click Keep Curate to stay.
The rules work as they do for a widget; Fill a widget automatically with auto-sync explains each one. A wall differs in four ways:
- Fewer rules. The pool has Formats, Sources, Tags and Cap. Quality bar has Minimum rating and, on Business, Translated language. A wall has no recipes, no Proof Intelligence filters and no Order & mix stage: you set its order in the next step.
- The cap. With No cap, an Auto-sync wall shows up to 500 testimonials. A cap never drops a featured testimonial: featured ones are counted first, and the others fill the places left.
- Hand-picked testimonials stay. Any testimonial you ticked in Curate or added from the inbox is still shown, even if it doesn't pass the rules. Only the cap can leave it out.
- The count. Under What the stages cost, Matched by these rules counts the testimonials that pass the rules. Click View all to list them.
Set the order
Under Order, a wall has two groups, Featured and Others, each with a count. Featured testimonials always come first. Pick an order for each group:
- Newest first or Oldest first: by the day each testimonial arrived in ReTestimonial. A review you imported today counts as new, even if its card shows an older date.
- Random: a shuffled order.
- Custom order: the order you arrange by hand, in the next step.
Feature your best and arrange them
Set Featured, Others or both to Custom order. Once the wall has testimonials, Reorder Testimonials appears below; click it.
- Drag a card by the handle on its left to move it.
- Drag a card into Featured to feature it, or back into Others to stop featuring it.
- Quick sort arranges both groups for you, by Newest first, Oldest first, Highest rating or Lowest rating. Adjust from there.
- Filter, shown when the wall's testimonials have tags, dims the cards without the tag you choose.
Click Save Order. Your arrangement shows in a group only while that group is set to Custom order. A testimonial that joins the wall later goes after the ones you arranged.
On the wall, a featured testimonial's card is outlined in the wall's accent colour. On the hosted page it also carries a Pinned label beside the author's name.
On an Auto-sync wall, Save Order keeps every testimonial in the dialog on the wall as if you'd picked it by hand. Each one stays even if it later stops passing the rules.
Add or feature a testimonial from the inbox
In your inbox, click the heart on a testimonial's card, then a wall's name, to add the testimonial to that wall. Click the name again to take it off. Once it's on the wall, the star beside the name (Highlight) moves it into the wall's Featured group.
Adding a pending testimonial this way approves it. To add or highlight several at once, see Act on several testimonials at once.
Take a testimonial off a wall
- Curate: untick it under Pick testimonials.
- Auto-sync: change the rules so it no longer passes. The surest rule is a tag: add one to the testimonial and pick it under Never in The pool.
A testimonial you added by hand ignores the rules. Click the heart on its card in the inbox, then the wall's name. On an Auto-sync wall, that also keeps it off when it passes the rules.
Going back to Curate
Switching from Auto-sync to Curate leaves only the testimonials picked by hand. A wall that never had any is empty until you tick some, and if it's published, visitors see it empty too.
What happens next
- Your changes save as you make them. A draft stays private until you click Publish in the top bar; on a published wall, changes go live as they save.
- A wall shows only approved testimonials. Rejecting or archiving one takes it off every wall, and a hand-picked one doesn't come back when you restore it, so tick it again.
- If Enable Wall of Love notifications is on under Notifications in your project's settings, a customer who submitted through one of your forms and gave an email address gets an email when you add their testimonial to a wall by hand. Testimonials that rules bring in don't send it. See Set up the emails a project sends for the emails your customers can get.
