Billing emails, redesigned Forms and Proof pages, and 24 fixes
Emails to the workspace owner when a plan changes, redesigned Forms and Proof Gaps pages, a Proof Impact report that opens on its numbers, and 24 fixes.
New
Emails when your plan or your access changes
Until now, a change to your subscription showed on Billing and under the bell, so you only saw it once you signed in. The workspace owner now gets an email as well:
- when you schedule a cancellation, with the date your subscription ends and what changes then;
- when you schedule a move to a lower plan, or to fewer project licences or team seats, with the date and the change;
- when an unpaid plan makes the workspace read-only, and when its widgets and Walls of Love stop showing;
- when a subscription has ended and the workspace is on Free;
- when a subscription that had a payment outstanding is up to date again.
These can't be switched off. An email that is no longer true when its turn comes isn't sent: pay before the workspace becomes read-only and that email never arrives. Receipts and invoices still come from Link, which sells the subscription.
See Payment failed.
Improved
A Proof Impact report that opens on its numbers
The Overview and Attribution tabs now start with the figures. The five views are one line of tabs, and the date range, the Conversion event, the other filters and Export share one row under them. Before, a stack of panels stood between the title and the first number.
Four figures sum up the range: the conversions, how many came After seeing proof, the Value after proof and the Average value. Each shows its change against the same number of days before, with today left out because the day isn't over.
Impact over time is now one bar a day on a single scale, split into the conversions that came after seeing proof and the rest. Switch it to Value to see the value by day. Today's bar is hatched and marked Today so far, so an unfinished day no longer looks like a drop. See Read the Proof Impact report.
One table on the Attribution tab
The four lists of top widgets, testimonials, rules and pages are now one table, What came before the conversions, with buttons to switch between them. Every list has the same columns: Proof views, Conversions after, Per 100 views, Value and Share of value, each sortable. A testimonial shows who said it and its first line.
A page or a widget seen a hundred times or more with nothing after is marked No conversion yet, and a page links into Proof Gaps. Rows with little traffic and nothing after fold under one line. See Read the Proof Impact report.
Experiment results at a glance
On the Experiments tab, the list now shows what is running first, then the results, newest first, then the drafts, and each row says where its experiment stands: Day 6 of 14, Draft, not started, or the result itself, such as The widget raises conversions. The page opens on the running experiment, or on the newest result.
An experiment's two groups are now drawn as two bars on one scale, each with the range its true rate likely lies in, and one line says the difference for every 1,000 visitors. Copy this result puts a finished result on your clipboard. New experiment moved to the top of the list, and the explanation above the page is now How experiments work under it. See Run a Proof Impact experiment.
Auto-Optimize tests you can compare
On the Auto-Optimize tab, each test is now one row: its options by name, a bar for how new visitors are split, a dot for each option's conversion rate with its likely range, and the chance the leading option is the best. Every test of a widget is drawn on the same scale. Show the numbers opens the table behind a row.
A test with a winner to apply is marked in the action colour with Apply beside it, an applied winner in green, and the warning colour is kept for a test that waits for conversions. The option a page shows without Auto-Optimize is now called Current default. Widgets with Auto-Optimize off are listed under Not testing, one line each. See Auto-Optimize a Proof Match widget.
Data Quality is now Tracking
The Data Quality tab of Proof Impact is now called Tracking, at the same address, and reads in the order you check it: Tracking health, your Conversion events, Conversions that followed no proof, Checks, then how it is set up. The conversions that followed no proof are sorted under three reasons with a count each, and the latest of them open under the reasons. The six Data Health boxes are one table, Checks, which leaves out a figure the view has nothing to measure for. Install and test tracking is always on this tab, and how long data is kept is one line. See Read the Proof Impact report.
What is working, and what is worth a look
Under the chart, the Overview tab now lists What is working: the testimonials and the pages that conversions followed most, with who said each testimonial and its first line. A row opens Attribution filtered to it.
Worth a look adds up to three sentences, each with one link: an Auto-Optimize winner that waits to be applied, an experiment whose result is in, a page that showed proof a hundred times or more with no conversion after. That last one leads into Proof Gaps, to the page itself or to adding it. See Read the Proof Impact report.
Proof Gaps and Proof Impact on the Insights page
The two cards on Overview under Analyze now say what the pages themselves say. Proof Gaps names the pages with no fitting proof, each a link to that page. Proof Impact shows the four figures its report opens on, with their change, and the first thing worth a look. Pages opened from a Proof Gaps page (Smart Invites, your widgets, a Wall of Love) show one short note about that page, with a way back. See Testimonial insights.
Proof Gaps, redesigned
The page that was called Proof Gap Autopilot is now Proof Gaps, as the sidebar always said, and it speaks of pages, not targets. One line counts your pages as No proof, Thin or Covered, and the counts filter the list. An open page says where it stands in one sentence and offers one next step: Ask customers, review the testimonials waiting for approval, or Show it on this page.
What this page needs lists each thing you named with how many approved testimonials cover it. Proof you already have shows the testimonials that fit, with Approve on one that's still pending and Add to a widget on an approved one. What to ask for is a request written from what's still missing, with questions to match, ready to copy.
From a page with a gap, Ask with Smart Invites now leads to a request that is already written: when you go on to invite one customer or to import contacts, an invite template named after the page is chosen for you, with the request and its questions as its first email. Nothing is sent until you send it.
Proof Gaps now checks every page again each week. You get one notification for a project in a week, and only when there is something to do: a page dropped a state (Pricing went from Covered to Thin), a page with no proof had its widgets seen a hundred times or more, or a fitting testimonial has waited more than seven days for approval. The page that changed says so in the list until the next check. Switch it off under Proof & optimization in your notification settings.
Under the request, Whom to ask lists up to five customers you already have, each with the reason: they said it in writing and the page wants a video, they are who the page is for, or they gave five stars. Invite opens the single invite with that customer filled in. Nobody on your do-not-email list, or invited in the last 90 days, is listed.
Add page is two short steps. It offers the pages your widgets are on and the words your analyzed testimonials already carry, and counts the testimonials that match while you pick.
One rule changed: a testimonial that only suits the format a page wants, and speaks to none of its subjects, no longer counts. It's listed under Right format, different subject. A page that was Strong on such testimonials may now read Thin or No proof. See Find missing proof with Proof Gaps.
The Forms page, redesigned
Each form now has a row with a picture of its first page, its address, and the last 30 days in numbers: visitors, completions and conversion, counted as the form's Analytics page counts them. A form with testimonials waiting for approval says how many, such as 3 to review, and the number opens the inbox on exactly those.
Copy link and Share & embed… are on the form's card. Rename is new in its More options menu: it changes the form's name and description without opening the builder. Pause form now asks first, because pausing closes a link your customers may hold. From two forms on you can switch between a list and a grid, and from five you can search and sort.
On a plan with a form limit, the page shows how many forms you've used, and says why Create Form is off when you reach it. See Build a collection form.
A real picture of each form on the Forms page
Each form on the Forms page now shows a picture of its first screen: the page a customer sees when they open the form's link, in your colours and with your logo. Paused forms and drafts have a picture too. A new form shows the drawing of its first page until its picture arrives.
The picture follows your changes. It's checked when you open the Forms page and shortly after you finish editing a form, and a new one is taken when the first screen would look different. To take one yourself, choose Refresh preview in a form's More options menu.
A picture never shows a testimonial: when your Welcome page shows some of your testimonials, the picture is taken without them.
A picture of every widget style
Each style in a style picker now shows a small drawing of the widget itself: its cards with their stars, quote and author, laid out as that style lays them out. Before, the styles were grey outlines that looked much alike, and some showed the wrong thing, such as the Cinematic slider drawn as a video.
You see the drawings where you pick a style for a new widget, on the builder's Layout tab, and on the Widgets page for a widget that has no picture of its own yet. See Choose a widget type.
Real pictures of the video templates
On the Videos page, each template under Templates is now a picture of the finished video, made with a sample review. Point at one with a mouse, or move to it with the keyboard, and it plays a few seconds of the template. Before, each tile was a small still on drawn placeholder content, and it showed a plan label even when your plan included the template.
A template with more than one look, such as Editorial and Gradient, has a picture for each. Clicking one opens the editor in that look when one of your testimonials suits the template. Tabs narrow the list to Text reviews, With photos, Video or Several reviews. A lock with a plan's name marks only a template your plan can't export. See Make a social video.
Testimonials are written or video
Audio testimonials are no longer part of ReTestimonial: a testimonial is written or video. A podcast episode or a track on Spotify, Apple Podcasts or SoundCloud still imports by its link from Media Platforms, and plays in that platform's own player. See Video and audio imports.
Fixed
Billing
- A subscription that ends after failed payments now tells you. It used to end with no message at all: the workspace moved to Free and the owner heard nothing. See Payment failed.
- The Payment failed notification is no longer skipped. It was missing for some failed payments, depending on the order two messages from the payment provider arrived in. See Payment failed.
- Billing emails follow the address you sign in with. After you changed it, receipts and invoices kept going to the old address. See Find your invoices and update your payment method.
Forms
- A form's "Updated" date follows your edits. Editing a page, the reward or the embed settings didn't move it, and Set as Default moved it on every form in the project. See Build a collection form.
- The Forms page tells you when the project's form link is closed. With the default form paused, that link says "No Form Available", and nothing on the page said so. A notice above the list now does, with Activate form. See Share or embed your form.
- A refused change says why. Pausing or activating a form, or choosing Set as Default, in a read-only project answered only that it had failed. It now gives the reason. See Form questions.
- A form's page carries only what it shows. It also held the name and description you gave the form for your team, and its stored view counts, where someone who read the page's source could find them. See Share or embed your form.
Rewards
- A rewards wallet deposit now gets a receipt by email. It had none. See Rewards.
- A reward's code stays with us until a testimonial is sent. A form's page carried its reward settings, coupon codes and reward links included, so someone who read the page's source could find them without leaving a testimonial. The page now carries only the reward's name. If a form of yours gives a coupon code, consider replacing the code. See Rewards.
Widgets and Wall of Love
- Refresh preview is no longer lost while a picture is being checked. Clicked just after the Widgets or Wall of Love page opened, while the page was still checking that picture, it did nothing, although the page said it was refreshing. It now waits for that check, for up to 20 seconds, and then takes the new picture; if the check takes longer, the new picture follows within a few minutes. See Widget questions.
Social videos
- A template opens on a testimonial it suits. Clicking a video template on the Videos page, or a design under Your Templates, opened your newest testimonial whatever it was. When that was a written review, the editor switched to another template. It now opens your newest testimonial that the template suits, when you have one. See Make a social video.
- The editor says why a template didn't open. When you clicked a template that none of your testimonials suits, or one your plan doesn't include, the editor opened another template without a word. A note above Templates now names the template that didn't open and gives the reason. See Make a social video.
Proof Gaps
- The page fits its window. Long buttons and a long page address pushed it wider than the screen, on a phone to more than twice its width. See Find missing proof with Proof Gaps.
- Pages are listed by what needs attention. A page with no proof or thin proof comes before a covered one, and the list opens on the first of them. It used to follow the order the pages were added in. See Find missing proof with Proof Gaps.
- A Proof Match rule is shown by its name. The page showed the rule's internal ID. The name also follows you to Smart Invites, the Widgets page and the Wall of Love page when you open them from a page. See Find missing proof with Proof Gaps.
- A page's value is in your conversions' currency. It was always shown in dollars. A page whose conversions carry no value, or more than one currency, shows no amount. See Find missing proof with Proof Gaps.
- Edit, pause and delete show without a mouse. The buttons appeared only on hover. They are now in a menu beside each page. See Find missing proof with Proof Gaps.
- What a page still lacks reads as a list. In the request for a customer, the missing things ran together without full stops. See Find missing proof with Proof Gaps.
Proof Impact
- Missing value counts only events that carry a value. It counted every conversion of an event set to No value expected as missing. It shows a dash when no conversion in the view belongs to an event that carries a value. See Read the Proof Impact report.
- Average value isn't averaged across unlike events. With All included events (mixed outcomes) chosen, it shows a dash and says why when one event carries a value and another doesn't. Choose one event to see its average. See Read the Proof Impact report.
- Whole counts are shown whole. A breakdown said "149.00 attributed conversions" under an attribution model that never splits a conversion. Decimals remain where credit is shared. See Read the Proof Impact report.
- An unmatched conversion is listed by its event's name. Unmatched conversions showed the event's key instead of the name you gave it. See Read the Proof Impact report.
- A running experiment says its date once. When an experiment ends and reports on the same day, the sentence named that day twice. See Run a Proof Impact experiment with a no-widget group.
- Measured values in the builders are written in their currency. The Measured winners card in the widget and Wall of Love builders, and the line about a rule on the Proof Match tab, showed a value as a bare number with no currency and no separators. They now show it as the report does, in your conversions' currency. See Read the Proof Impact report.
