From seen to signed up — one funnel
The metrics follow the visitor's actual path: reach, then engagement, then video, then outcome. Every number is per widget, per page and per referrer, over 7-day, 30-day, 90-day or all-time ranges.
Who actually saw the widget — not just the page.
Clicks classified honestly — carousel arrows don't count.
In-widget playback, right where it happened.
Signups tied back to the proof that influenced them.
CTR = testimonial clicks ÷ impressions. Funnel widths show the shape, not your numbers.
Four questions it answers on sight
One dashboard at Insights → Widgets, with a range toggle (7D / 30D / 90D / All) and per-widget drill-down. These vignettes show the shape of the answers.
Which widget earns its spot?
Every widget ranked by what it produces — impressions, sessions, clicks, CTR, video starts. Inspect any widget to see only its numbers, live or draft.
Where does proof work hardest?
Top pages by impressions and clicks, plus a referrer breakdown — direct traffic versus search, social and launch-day spikes. Referrer domains only, never full URLs.
Do the videos get watched?
In-widget video starts, completions and completion rate, plus a top-videos list — so you know which faces stop the scroll.
Is it trending the right way?
Traffic over time across impressions, testimonial clicks, CTA clicks and video starts, with a CTR trend beside it. Today streams in live; past days are rolled up nightly.
Tie signups back to the proof that earned them
Premium+One call from your signup or checkout success page — any page that loads your widget script. Conversions are matched to the testimonials the same visitor saw in the previous four hours, last-touch by default, and land in the dashboard’s Impact Snapshot as attributed conversions and attributed value.
It’s a directional signal — which proof influenced the signup — not a replacement for your finance stack. The full attribution story, with models and per-testimonial leaderboards, lives in Proof Impact.

No pixel to deploy, no tag manager surgery, no consent-banner regressions. The widget you already embedded does the counting — carefully.
Events leave via sendBeacon, so measuring never blocks your page, adds a fetch waterfall, or touches interactivity.
The session ID is a random UUID in sessionStorage — it ends with the browser session. No cross-site tracking, no consent-banner surprise.
Page path, referrer domain only (never the full URL), UTM tags and page language. The context fingerprint hashes page context — it is not a device fingerprint.
Carousel and slider arrows are excluded; testimonial clicks and CTA clicks are classified separately, so CTR means what it says.
Today's events stream straight into the dashboard; history is aggregated into per-day rollups overnight (UTC) so any range stays fast.
Every event is checked against the widget and project it claims to belong to, deduplicated, and rate-limited at the edge.
Your stack gets a copy
Pro+Forward widget views, clicks and video events to Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager — no extra tags. These are the default GA4 event names (the widget’s internal embed_view arrives as widget_view); rename any of them, add up to ten custom parameters each, and trust the reserved ones (widget, type, testimonial) appended last so they can’t be spoofed.
Builder previews never fire events, so your reports stay clean while you design.

Frequently asked
What does Widget Analytics track?
Every published widget reports impressions, unique sessions, testimonial clicks, CTA clicks, click-through rate, and in-widget video starts and completions — broken down per widget, per page path and per referrer domain. No extra tags or scripts: the embed you already installed does the counting.
Is the data real-time?
Today's numbers are live — events stream in as they happen. Historical days are aggregated into daily rollups overnight (UTC), which keeps the dashboard fast at any traffic level. You can view 7-day, 30-day, 90-day or all-time ranges.
Do I need Google Analytics or any extra script?
No. Analytics is built into the widget embed itself. If you want the same events in your own stack, Pro plans can forward widget views, testimonial clicks, CTA clicks and video events to Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager — with custom event names and parameters, no extra tags.
How does conversion tracking work?
Call retestimonial.convert() from your signup or checkout success page — any page that loads the widget script. Conversions are attributed to the testimonials the same visitor saw in the previous four hours (session-based, last-touch by default). Conversion attribution is available on Premium and Business plans.
Does it use cookies or track people across sites?
No cookies. The session ID lives in sessionStorage and resets when the browser session ends. We record the referrer's domain only — never the full referring URL — plus UTM parameters and the page path. The context fingerprint is a hash of page context, not a device fingerprint.
Which plans include Widget Analytics?
The analytics dashboard and GA4/GTM forwarding are included on Pro and above. Conversion attribution (the Impact Snapshot and retestimonial.convert()) is Premium and above. Auto-Optimize, which promotes winning Proof Match rules from measured results, is a Business feature.
